Manoribel, Manori

Mumbai; with its high paced lifestyle, tall buildings and enough smog to make one go blind. How can one gain respite from all of this? If there is one place to go which is literally a few minutes away from the Mumbai mainland, it has to be Manori. The fact that it takes just 5-10 minutes to get here by a ferry from the Malad Jetty is almost unbelievable for the contrast it provides from the big city life you have just escaped from! There is, of course, the alternative to drive to Manori, which takes a lot more time.

There are plenty of rooms and cottages to choose from at Manoribel, right from the tiny spartan single non-A/C rooms to the luxurious A/C cottages. The rates do vary for these according to season as well as weekdays and weekends. The service at the resort is not bad, and the staff is quite sweet and mild mannered. The food is strictly OK, and the alcohol is a bit over priced, but that is the case with most of the resorts. Facilities at Manoribel include laundry service, ping-pong table, a beautiful tree house , plenty of hammocks under shady trees and a beautiful view of the ocean.

Reserve in advance and watch out for overbooking

Visit the northern side of the beach, as it is cleaner

If you have a bike, take a ride through the village

Price Range – INR 832 – 3740 ( weekdays) and INR 936 – 4620 (weekends)

Yes, I think ManoriBel is a great option when you come up with an impromptu plan to get out of the busy city life. I had taken a car to manoribel and it took around 2 hrs with traffic, which i think isn’t bad. The place is beautiful and very peaceful indeed. One should visit this place atleast once… you’ll want to visit very often then;)

Nice and informative article. Good post!
