Chandipur beach-Orissa

One of the finest beaches of Orissa, the Chandipur beach is aptly called, “The land of hidden treasures”. Whispering of the tamarisk trees, the series of keshew and keya trees on both sides, the cool breeze makes the ride to the lonely beach of Chandipur even more exciting.

Once you are done with the mesmerising beauty of Chandipur beach, there are many other landscapes around to explore. Most of these locations are a few hours drive from the beach and are surely not to be missed out on. Here’s a list of few of the places that should be high on the must-visit list.

Balasore

If you love handicrafts, then Balasore, the district headquarters is the place to be. It is widely famous for the museum market of handicrafts.

Remuna

The place is famous for the  “Khirchora Gopinath” temple.

Panchlingeshwar

Truly a traveller’s delight, the place is famous for the temple of Lord Shiva. Located on the peak side of the mount Nilgiri, the high altitude adds to the adventurous mood. The temple on the top and the moving fountain at its roar will certainly make you sit there for hours at a stretch.

Balaramgudi

More known as the fishing harbour, the place is a junction of river Budibalam and the sea. Research works including cure on cancer is still in progress at Balaramgudi.

Simlipal National Park

Located at a distance of about 230 kms from Chandipur, the national park sprawls over 2750 sq.km  and boosts of tiger and crocodile reserves among other endangered species.

Chilka Lake

The salt water lake is home to the Siberian migratory birds in the winters. The dolphin park houses thousands of dolphins and is quite popular with the visitors.

Nilgiri

The 400 year old king’s palace, the beautiful stone carvings and the surrounding hills are the major tourist attractions in Nilgiri.

These are some of the most sought after places in and around Chandipur beach worth visting for life long cherishable moments.
